Fundraiser for the Pro-Choice Safety Network Fund, September 22nd in Santa Fe
Jessica Valenti, co-founder of the Web’s most widely-read feminist blog, feministing.com, and author of The Purity Myth, is coming to Santa Fe on September 22nd to participate in two events to help raise money for the Pro-Choice Safety Network Fund, which provides vital financial assistance for non-medical expenses like transportation, food, and childcare for low-income women having abortions in New Mexico. Jessica is a dynamic speaker and in inspiring voice of a new generation of young feminists. The Fund is a project of Santa Fe NOW and the NM Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Meet Jessica, eat at the award-winning Jambo Café and make a difference in women’s lives in New Mexico.
Meet the Author Reception and Buffet will be held at Jambo Café, 2010 Cerrillos Road, from 3-5 PM. Tickets are $100.
A Conversation with Jessica Valenti will be held from 7-9 PM at the Santa Fe Woman’s Club, 1616 Old Pecos Trail. Jessica will screen the DVD of her book, The Purity Myth, and speak on: Sexuality, feminism, and activism: how we can battle back against the ‘war on women’. Tickets are $15.
